St’Valent is a New York based brand and studio that specializes in one-of-a-kind stained glass sculptures. Founded by emerging artist Angel Wu, the studio’s current collections explore the relationship of nature within urban environments. St’Valent produces work with wilderness as its muse: from delicate wisteria petals to autumnal leaves, each glass piece captures the ephemerality of landscape through its unique combination of subject, color, and light.

Originally from Vancouver, Angel’s experience growing up in the lush Canadian landscape has made nature both a source of inspiration and a participant in her interactive artworks. Meant to be displayed in homes or other intimate settings, her pieces play off of their connection with nature by allowing sunlight to morph the way they are viewed throughout the day. These changes occur even at night, when the glass may refract artificial light in unpredictable ways. While these works are stunning when admired on their own, their collaboration with the surrounding wilderness provide an enchanting effect that can only be captured in a medium like stained glass. Through St’Valent, Angel hopes to shape the way we experience light, enhancing our experience of the natural phenomenon through narratives of colored glass.
